Back On Track

I'm learning to really love the fighting spirit of my little daughter. At today's weigh-in she's gained a whopping 65g, her biggest yet taking her to 3lb 11oz in 'old money'. Having decorated the cot with yesterday's 5PM feed she hasn't been sick since so we're not panicking about stomach problems now.

Yesterday's transfusion seems to have been successful and Anna says Amelia looks a good deal pinker now. She was however moved into a 'Hot Cot' temporarily as her temperature dropped to 35 degrees yesterday (should be 36.6). It's back up now apparently but they have to be gradually weaned off it so she'll probably be back in her main pod today or tomorrow.

I really do punch the air when she comes through like this because I can't imagine how difficult it is to be fighting to be well all the time. She still fights harder than she should have to breathe, she has to fight to stay warm and evidently her anaemia has meant that merely staying alive is exhausting.
