4-Hourly Feeds!

Well we're all grown up now eh? Amelia is trying 4-hourly feeds today for the first time so she'll get her goodies at 9, 1 and 5 o'clock from now on. She'll still be getting Gaviscon with each feed but it looks like she may come off the Caffeine this week too.

Caffeine is used to stimulate the part of the brain that reminds her to breathe. In premature-born babies, the central nervous system is still developing, and frequently they 'forget' to breath. This is known as an apnoea and starves the blood of oxygen which can lead to death or serious disability. When she comes off the Caffeine it'll be one more artificial thing she can live without which is great news all round.
